DS026 - The Uncanny EP by Sensimo

Sensimo comes from the Belgian jungle scene and is part of Monkey Business Recordings & Soundsystem for over more than ten years. After taking a small break to better his production game, he is now back with the Uncanny EP on Darkstep Records.

This EP derives from his obsession with fear and horror. He even studied the philosophy of fear at the Belgian university. This EP is inspired by two forms of fear: terror and the uncanny. Terror is an instant traumatic experience which you cannot escape. The uncanny on the other hand – coming from the Freudian psychoanalytic term ‘Das Unheimliche’ – creeps up slowly through tiny little repetitions which will drive you crazy. Imagine a tiny knock on your front-door every minute, the whole night, without seeing anyone. To transform these two forms of fear into music he decided to make this experimental skullstep EP, making almost all sounds from scratch.
